Luchtdruk
Er zijn veel merken en typen luchtbuksen. Net als bij alle andere artikelen bestaan er merken met naam en faam en de traditionele middenklasse merken. Verder zijn er de nieuwkomers (vaak uit Azië) op de markt. Luchtbuksen of luchtpistolen kunnen we onderscheiden in 3 soorten:
- Persluchtbuks/pistool (PCP)
- Co2 luchtbuks/pistool
- Veerspanner luchtbuks/pistool

Persluchtbuks en pistool (PCP)
Bij deze luchtbuksen (Pre Charged Pneumatic) wordt perslucht (200 tot 300 bar) gebruikt om de kogel uit de loop te blazen. De persluchttank is de cilinder onder de loop. Dergelijke luchtbuksen zijn door het ontbreken van bewegende mechanische onderdelen buitengewoon nauwkeurig. Een voorbeeld van een PCP luchtbuks is ons eigen fabrikaat: de DZ Sinner en de DZ Giant. PCP luchtbuksen leveren wij ook van de merken Weihrauch, Hatsan, Kalibrgun, BSA en FX,. Aanvullende accessoires voor PCP, zoals persluchtflessen, vuladapters, slangen, koppelingen of micrometers leveren wij van het merk Best Fittings.
CO2 luchtbuks en pistool
Dit is ongeveer hetzelfde als een persluchtbuks met het verschil dat deze wordt aangedreven vanuit een flesje vloeibaar CO2-gas. De druk van CO2-gas is bij kamertemperatuur ongeveer 60 bar. Dit is genoeg om redelijk mee te kunnen schieten. Echter als de temperatuur zakt dan neemt ook de druk snel af. In de praktijk kun je buiten bij koud weer onvoldoende energie leveren voor een acceptabele mondingssnelheid. Zeker als er meerdere schoten na elkaar worden afgeschoten koelt het gasflesje sterk af door verdamping. Co2 buksen van de merken Crosman en Gamo zijn bij Drummen Custom Guns verkrijgbaar.
Veergespannen Luchtbuks en pistool
De veerspanners zijn luchtbuksen die aangedreven worden door een zuiger en een stalen veer. De meesten worden gespannen met een knikloop. Er zijn ook modellen met vaste loop en een onder- of zijspanner. Voordeel daarvan is dat de loop vastzit en vaak meer naar achteren gemonteerd is. Door de vaste loop is het geweer nauwkeuriger. De topmodellen van de veerbuksen zijn voorzien van een gasveer. Dit is een soort ballon die de zware stalen veer vervangt. Wij bieden veerspanners aan van de merken Weihrauch, Gamo, Hatsan, Crosman en Diana.
